The San Francisco Tea Party

The graffiti reads:

“This is my fair warning to the hipsters and the yuppies: Get the fuck out the Mission!! Before this shit starts gettin ugly! You have six months. Keep it kickin’!! If you don’t, it won’t be funny!! My soldiers will gladly come out gunnin’. Kill hipsters + yuppies.” – photo credit: @OneTakeJake2

THIS is what happens when our District Supervisor (David Campos) runs for office by stoking anger and exploiting fear. He’s one of the leaders of the NIMBY crowd who have protested and stopped every affordable housing project under the premise that SF should always stay the same. The Mission has seen rents skyrocket for the past 6 years under Campos. So who’s to blame? Naturally, Campos takes zero responsibility. Instead, he organizes campaign events disguised as protests meant to divide our neighborhood and blame hipsters and tech people for all of our woes. This is how he hopes to get his base of voters. He incites resentment and fear, exactly the same way Tea Partiers do. Listen to his rhetoric about “taking back” our city. I’ve seen people at his rallies scream, “Fuck techies!” and “Get out of our city!” He’s doubling down on anger and using our neighborhood as a tool for his campaign. People are talking about violence out here, and leaders in the Radical Left are responsible. They’re absolutely the SF version of the Tea Party.

Don’t be a pawn.
